(English version at the bottom of this post)

The belief that we can attack and be attacked – that attack is really possible, is a corner stone of the ego’s thought system. But fortunately, this is not true.

Jesus tells us that only love is real and nothing else exists. But as long as this belief in attack is still strongly rooted in our minds, we will have experiences that are rooted in this belief, because we see what we want to see, and what we want to see, is what we believe is true. Our thoughts are that powerful. Because you believe attack is possible, you will unconsciously or consciously fear attack, and you also believe and feel that you are vulnerable.

Lesson 26: “My attacking thoughts are attacking my invulnerability” are aimed at helping us understand that nothing but our thoughts can attack us – that nothing but our thoughts can make us believe that we are vulnerable – that nothing but our thoughts can prove to us that this is NOT true! The only sense of vulnerability, of fear – must come from attack thoughts in our own minds. The lesson also introduces the idea: You always attack yourself first.
